Large crowd attends outdoor expo

Date: February 10, 2018 |

The Mike Avery Outdoor Expo was held on Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Forward Conference Center in West Branch and saw huge crowd. “We had around 1,000 visitors with 35 vendors; the seminars were well attended and the feedback has been incredible,” said Emil Rousseau, general manager of the conference center.

The expo featured exhibitors, seminars, door prizes, and a meet and greet with radio personality and outdoor enthusiast, Mike Avery.

“The event was the result of one good idea supported by many. I particularly enjoyed talking to the out-of-town people, saying that they never knew we were here. I believe that this was a good showing for West Branch and hope to partner with several other businesses next year to enhance the experience,” said Rousseau.

A donation of over $1,700 was made to the Sportsmen for Vets and the Ogemaw County Nature Park. This money was raised through additional ticket sales for the door prizes. Each vendor donated an item for a door prize. One entry into the door prize drawings was given out with each paid entry into the show.
